I have attempted cutouts and came out with following designs.

Of these four, Angela approved this designs.

According to the plan, I have played with fonts and try to make it similer to that of Neville Brody.

  1. CONCEPT: Very simple. Using shapes as your design is a great idea, now you simply have to get the right shapes. A piece of art - known for its violence - bringing art aficionados to watts. The Watts tower is a piece of art. This is a great idea, now the actual design has to reflect the art of the tower.
DESIGN: Won this image has to be a piece of art just like watts Tower and the people you are targeting! That means you have to apply all the fundamental of 2D Design. That means every object and the text need to work as pieces of Art – negative and positive shapes and the actual tower needs to be an interesting shape. Why is the tower just a simple triangles, the oddness of their stacking does not pull off this completely – and I think that is because of the very strong triangle at the top and the symmetrical base – all the shapes seem to be the same size on each level. Now lets talk about the text in some area so there is an interaction between the two objects. Why is this poster only in red and black? The text could be falling off the watts towers or at least the negative space works so that the objects work together. I agree never negate you work. The words now have to work in shapes. The body copy is playful and they can work well but watch the area between each element. There is a dead area on the bottom left and I wonder how you can work the type on the top areas so that they are visually connected to the watts slogan and the Text? Why all the space around the objects on the page? It isn’t bad just not 100% correct. This is a great beginning you just need to work on your 2d fundamentals – the text is not well integrated. The text straight at the bottom gives it emphasis and works well. Won you are a really enthusiastic student and try extremely hard! I like the way you push through and keep going until it works. You are learning a great deal and are becoming a better designer.
BLOG: An excellent job, You worked really hard, documenting the information in a simple, clear way.
